Last friday DHL knocked on my door to deliver a Raspberry Pi. For those that doesnt know what it is, it is a realy small computer running Linux. It didnt took long before I moved over my control software for lamps that uses a Tellstick from Telldus Technologies. Instead of normal light switches I have built in recivers from Nexa that is a remote controlled relay. This make me able to control almost all lighting in the house from anywhere.
Besides playing with my new Raspberry Pi I also built a plastic case to protect it somehow from my sons.
I will post more source code and project details soon on this. But for now have a look at my setup.

Great work. Any chance you can post the source code? I would love to get my Tellstick working on my Raspberry Pi. My next step is then to get my USB UIRT working to control IR devices.

Thanks for your comment, I posted a installation instructions for tellstick in a later blog post but I assume you want something that actually has a user interface that is easier to use than the commandline tool. I will post it here in like 2-3 weeks when it is cleaned up. It is a django-based interface where everything is possible to do from a webinterface optimized for small screens.

Hi David, I posted on your other blog regarding installation. I'm working on a similar project using mqtt messages and an android front end. Perhaps we can put our heads together and start up an open source project.

We had an early prototype working with USB UIRT. When I get a few minutes and have the latest image from David I'll finish it off. In the prototype I was able to send and receive IR signals. I could then press a remote key and have it turn off a Tellstick device.

I got my USB-UIRT working on Arch Linux ARM dist. In the end I'm not sure I will be able to use your image. (I was looking at it as an home automation solution). But unfortunately I can't find evidence of nexa making american wall sockets (I'm in Canada).
